Feature Overview
Part Requests is designed for Fixably Depot customers with separate Inventory Control and Repair teams. The feature creates a managed workflow for Technicians to request the parts they need for a Repair. Once a request is submitted, the Parts team has a new dashboard and module to manage and prioritize the requests.
How does the workflow in Fixably differ when using Part Requests?
In a regular workflow, a Technician has physical access to their parts. This means they add Parts (Order Lines) to an Order and confirm them (undraft the order line) in one step.
Depending on stock availability, the Order Line Status is then changed to either Confirmed, In Stock or Pending Purchase.
When the Part Requests feature is turned on, the flow changes.
Instead of going to Confirmed, In stock or Pending purchase status, the order line upon confirmation goes into Part requested or Pending purchase, depending on its stock availability.
