Discounts can be applied in two different ways depending on whether you want to reduce the entire order total or only specific products or services. This article explains when to use each method and how to apply them correctly using macros in Fixably.
The Order Discount and Line Discount macros exist to apply consistent, automated pricing adjustments without manual math or ad-hoc edits. In short: they turn pricing rules into repeatable actions.

How to Add a Discount to an Entire Order (Order Discount)
Use this method when the discount should apply evenly across all items on the order.
Steps
- Open the Order you want to modify.
- Click the Macro icon and then click Add Order Discount (%)

- Enter the percentage amount to discount the Order and click Next to apply.
How to Add a Discount to an Order Line (Order Line Discount)
Use this method when the discount should apply evenly across all items on the order.
Steps
- Open the Order you want to modify.
- Click the Macro icon and then click Add Line Discount ($ or %)
- Select a fixed amount or percentage based discount from the dropdown. Then enter the amount of the discount. Select the Order Line where the discount will be applied. Then click Next to apply the discount.
