Device Model Best Practices
When creating a new device model, we recommend keeping Product Categories at a high level rather than very detailed. For example, use categories such as Smartphones, Tablets, Notebooks, Desktops, or Wearables instead of highly specific sub-types.
This approach makes it much easier to manage device models across the system. By keeping categories broad, you reduce duplication, simplify searches, and ensure consistency when new models are added.
If you need to distinguish devices more granularly, use Product Group, Model Family, or Tags instead of over-segmenting the Product Category.
