Table of Contents
New Features:
- GSX Integration:
- Request Repair Mode Support:
- You can now request a customer put their device into repair mode directly from Fixably.
- You can request Repair Mode from the Device Card > Gear Menu, or from the Warranty Status macro step.
- It is visible for Apple devices from GSX that aren't already in Repair Mode.
- You confirm before the request is sent, and each request is recorded in the order history.
- If Apple rejects the request, you can see the reason.
- Repair Mode:
- Changed the logic around when Repair Mode or Find My is displayed to the User.
- For an Apple device on software version 27.0 or higher, the device card shows the Repair Mode row and does not show the Find My row.
- For an Apple device on a software version lower than 27 (for example, 26.x), the device card shows the Find My row and does not show the Repair Mode row.
- When GSX does not return a software version for the device (the value is masked due to missing diagnostics, missing, empty, or the GSX request fails), the device card shows both the Repair Mode row and the Find My row.
- Previously, the device card and the warranty.status macro step showed both Repair Mode and Find My for Apple devices, regardless of the software version the device runs.
- Changed the logic around when Repair Mode or Find My is displayed to the User.
- Request Repair Mode Support:
- SSO:
- Microsoft sign-in can now ask for credentials every time on shared devices.
- In System Settings> Security, the Microsoft (Azure AD) login now has a new “Always ask for Microsoft credentials” option.
- When it's on, every "Sign in with Microsoft" prompts the user for their own account, and logging out of Fixably also ends the Microsoft session.
- This means the next person on a shared device can't be signed in as the previous user by mistake.
- For users to come back to Fixably after the Microsoft sign-out, add the Sign-out redirect URI shown in that settings section to your Microsoft Entra app registration.
- Booking App:
- Mail-in Service type for the booking app
- Service types can now be set up as Mail-in Service, alongside In Person Service and Remote Service.
- A mail-in service type needs a default location and a default queue.
- Customers who choose it in the booking app don't pick a date or time slot. They give the address the device is being sent from.
- The booking creates a repair order instead of an appointment, in the service type's default queue and location.
- Turn on "Let customers choose the location in the booking app" settings to let customers pick from the locations marked Visible for mail-in repairs in the booking app.
- Address, City and Zip are always required for mail-in bookings.
- Customers get a mail-in confirmation email without an appointment time, and they can cancel the booking until the repair has started.
- Mail-in Service type for the booking app
- Cost Estimates:
- You can now use Tasks to ask a customer questions during the cost estimate workflow.
- In System settings > Tasks, a task can now be shown on the customer's cost estimate page when they accept or decline the estimate.
- Each case has its own settings:
- Show on cost estimate accept
- Required on cost estimate accept
- Show on cost estimate decline
- Required on cost estimate decline
- Follow-up tasks appear based on the customer's answers, and the customer can't confirm until every required question has an answer.
- Using this update, you could gather data from your customer on why they declined a cost estimate, for example.
- You can now use Tasks to ask a customer questions during the cost estimate workflow.
Updates to Existing Features:
- Booking App:
- Required booking app fields are now set per service type.
- Each service type now has its own Required fields in the booking app settings. These replace the required-field sections in System settings > Booking App.
- Existing service types keep their current required fields.
- New service types start with all fields required.
- Required booking app fields are now set per service type.
- Cost Estimates:
- Added a new option to remove all order lines from a cost estimate option quickly.
- Macros:
- Updated styling when viewing the steps in a macro.
- Stock Transfers:
- When creating a new shipment from Stock Transfers, the Transfer Number is now visible in the UI.
- Added support for partially receiving a Stock Transfer.
- Reordered buttons at the top of the view.
- Added a new option to mark individual items as "Lost in Transit" or "Damaged in Transit".
- This is a flag/note for tracking and reporting only. It does not automatically adjust stock quantity or costing.
- When a transfer is in "Ready to Ship" status, using the gear menu's "Ship" action now opens the "Create Shipment" form.
- Signature App:
- Add new options to System Settings > Integrations > Signature App to control which document types are visible for users to choose when using the Signature App.
- This allows you to hide document types that should not be used
- For example, if you use the Order Confirmation (with Terms), you can now hide the Order Confirmation so it can’t be accidentally selected.
- Add new options to System Settings > Integrations > Signature App to control which document types are visible for users to choose when using the Signature App.
- Report Builder:
- Use summarized values in Report Builder calculated columns
- Calculated column formulas in Report Builder can now use the report's summarized columns, such as "Line price (Sum)".
- You can multiply them by a number or combine several of them, for example, Line price (Sum) × 0.04 to work out a 4% technician bonus.
- Added the device’s estimated purchase date to the Order and Order lines sections.
- Filter Report Builder reports by users' current roles
- Added new Handler roles and Last event handler roles columns
- They're available on the Orders, Invoices and Order line report types.
- The old Handler role and Last event handler role columns are now labelled "(legacy)". They can leave out recently created users or show outdated roles.
- Saved reports that filter on the old columns need to be switched to the new ones to show the right people.
- Use summarized values in Report Builder calculated columns
- Order End User / Cash Customer
- Added a new option to remove End User details from an order in one click.
- Previously, each field needed to be removed individually.
- Legal Invoices:
- System settings > Printouts > Invoices has a new checkbox for showing order notes on legal invoices, under "Enable legal invoices"
- The checkbox is off by default, and legal invoices stay unchanged if the setting is disabled.
- With the setting on, a legal invoice PDF shows the same order notes a normal invoice shows for that order
- Incoming Emails:
- In Messages > Incoming Emails, each email's attachments are now listed with a download link, both in the email preview and in the "Attach to order" view.
- You can now open an attached file, such as a purchase order PDF, to find out which order the email belongs to, then attach the email to that order in one step.
- Stocks:
- When you click a product in the Products search, the Locations row in the product panel now still shows a stock's location after that stock runs out.
- A location with zero stock is shown in red. Locations that still have stock stay green.
- You no longer need to open the product's edit view to find where a part belongs.
- Enterprise BI Tools:
- A new bi_task_options view lists every option of every checklist item, including options no longer offered, with the label technicians see.
- bi_order_tasks has a new taskOptionId column, so a selected option can be matched to its label.
- A new bi_order_task_option_selections view lists the options chosen in Multi Select answers.
- bi_tasks now shows the Date, Time and Multi Select checklist types, which were previously blank.
- Existing BI Views users can use the new views without any extra setup.
- Roles & Permissions:
- On tenants that use roles and permissions, automatically deleting a draft order when a macro is cancelled now follows the role's Delete orders permission. It no longer depends on the Security > General setting "Employees are allowed to delete orders".
- On tenants without roles and permissions, nothing changes.
- On tenants with roles and permissions, the Remove from queue options on an order now follow the permissions that already protect those actions: Move to draft in the order's action menu, and Edit queue in the queue menu.
- Translations:
- "Social Security Number" is now displayed as “DNI/NIE” in Spanish and Catalan localizations.
Bug Fixes:
- Appointment Calendar:
- Fixed an issue where a validation error in the appointment availability form vanishes before it can be read.
- Booking App:
- Fixed an issue where clicking a store on the booking app's location step could open a service location instead. This happened when the store and service location shared the same ID.
- The store the customer clicks now opens as expected.
- Fixed an issue where the booking portal shows a wrench icon or an all-caps name for some Apple device types.
- Fixed an issue where a cancelled booking app appointment keeps its time slot reserved under some configurations.
- Fixed an issue where clicking a store on the booking app's location step could open a service location instead. This happened when the store and service location shared the same ID.
- GSX Integration:
- Backordered Part Alerts:
- Fixed an issue where Apple backorder (Recovery ETA) alerts showed the wrong ship date, such as a 2020 year or a date earlier than Apple's note.
- The date in the notification and on the repair now matches Apple's note.
- Order handlers now get one notification per backordered part each time the repair syncs, for the newest Apple ETA only, instead of one for every old Apple note.
- Close Repair macro continues when GSX returns a warning:
- Fixed an issue where a macro with the order.close step stopped with an error when GSX set the repair to Ready for Pickup but returned a warning, such as the standalone battery KBB notice on iPhone battery repairs.
- The GSX message now shows as a warning that stays on screen until you dismiss it.
- The order is closed, and the rest of the macro runs, so you no longer have to run the macro a second time.
- DOA Parts: Fixed an issue where "Report the DOA to GSX now" never shows a tick and does not send the DOA to GSX
- Backordered Part Alerts:
- IGSPN Integration:
- Fixed an issue where a failed Samsung symptom code fetch is reported as successful.
- Erply Integration:
- Fixed an issue where the Erply warehouse on a location always showed the first warehouse instead of the saved one.
- Fixed an issue where the Erply link in the Invoice view points to the wrong Erply server.
- Fixed an issue where an Erply order is linked to an unrelated customer with a similar name.
- Cost Estimates:
- Fixed an issue where the cost estimate PDF shows all visible notes instead of only the selected notes when the HTML printout layout is enabled.
- Fixed an issue where cost estimates with many photos failed to generate or became very large (50 MB or more).
- Photos are now scaled down to the size they're printed at before they go into cost estimates and other printouts with order photos, so the PDFs stay small and still look sharp.
- HEIC photos uploaded from iPhones are now saved as normal-sized JPEGs instead of files several times bigger than the original.
- Fixed an issue where a cost estimate macro step can create an estimate with no lines.
- Notes:
- Fixed an issue where hidden and deleted issue, diagnosis and resolution notes appear in email, WhatsApp and sticker templates.
- Fixed an issue where a note's previous versions stay unmasked for users with restricted access to customer data.
- Tasks:
- Fixed an issue where multi-select tasks were not showing correct information on repair stickers.
- Xero Integration:
- Fixed an issue where an invoice fails to export to Xero when one of its products has a name longer than 50 characters.
- Fixed an issue where the Xero connection silently breaks and stops syncing until an admin re-authorizes it.
- Stocks:
- Fixed an issue where the difference list of a large stock import never opens, so the import cannot be confirmed.
- Translations:
- Fixed an issue where Polish views and printouts show Dutch billing methods, an incorrect character limit and unfilled placeholders.
- Fixed an issue where Italian tenants see an untranslated interface.
- Fixed an issue where Catalan translations were not visible.
- Deposits:
- Fixed an issue where opening Refund deposit on an order without a deposit showed an error.
- Files:
- Fixed an issue where uploading a file of roughly 100 MB or more to an order showed an error page and the file was not saved.
- A file over the limit is now refused before it uploads, with a message naming the file and the limit, and you stay on the files page.
- Macros:
- Fixed an issue where the “Next” button was unresponsive in the warranty status macro step when the device has no proof of purchase.
- Emails:
- Fixed an issue where an email subject would send "&" as "&" when a macro/trigger email is sent through the Generic template.
- German e-invoicing:
- Fixed an issue where Fixably creates no German e-invoice for some refund invoices.
- Purchase Orders:
- Fixed an issue where USPS tracking numbers on purchase orders opened the FedEx tracking site.
- USPS numbers now open the USPS tracking page, both on the Purchase Orders list and in the purchase order panel on order lines.
- Security:
- Improved protection of user data on the order batch edit page and the API token form.
- System:
- Fixed the issue when using the browser's Back and Forward buttons.
