Samsung GSPN symptom code shortcuts
How to name common symptom code combinations in System Settings, and pick them when creating a Samsung service order.
Table of Contents
Overview
A symptom code shortcut is a name you give to a combination of three Samsung symptom codes, for example Cracked screen or No power. Instead of picking three codes one by one, your team picks the shortcut, and Fixably fills in all three codes.
Using shortcuts takes two parts:
- An administrator names the combinations your team uses most, in System Settings.
- Your team picks a shortcut when creating a service order with the
gspn.repair.createmacro step.
System Settings > Integrations > IGSPN symptom codes

For what symptom codes are, see Samsung GSPN symptom codes.
Before you begin
- The Samsung GSPN integration must be set up. See Getting started with Samsung GSPN.
- Samsung's symptom codes must be in Fixably. If the list in the steps below is empty, click Fetch and update symptom codes on System Settings > Integrations > IGSPN.
- To set up shortcuts, you need the permission to manage IGSPN system settings.
Set up a shortcut
- Open System Settings from the menu in the top right, then Integrations, then IGSPN symptom codes.
- Find the combination you want:
- In Sub-category, choose the Samsung product sub-category, for example the phone or washing machine group.
- Type part of a code or description in Search, then click the filter button.
- The table lists each three-level combination, with a column for Symptom category 1, Symptom category 2 and Symptom category 3. Each shows the description and the code.
- On the row you want, click the cog, then Edit. A panel opens on the right.
- In Combination name, type the shortcut name your team will see, for example
Cracked screen. - Click Save.

The name now shows in the Combination name 4 column. Repeat this for each combination your team uses often.
Shortcuts belong to one sub-category. A shortcut set up for phones only appears on orders with a phone, so name the same fault again under each sub-category where you need it.
To remove a shortcut, edit the row and clear Combination name. Shortcuts stay in place when Fixably refreshes Samsung's symptom codes.
Use a shortcut when creating a service order
Shortcuts appear in the gspn.repair.create step, which creates the GSPN service order. For the full step, see Creating a Samsung GSPN service order.
- Run the macro that contains
gspn.repair.create, usually your Samsung check-in macro. - Check GSPN account and Service location.
- In Symptom code combination shortcuts, pick the shortcut that matches the fault.
- Fixably fills in Symptom code 1, Symptom code 2 and Symptom code 3. Check them, and change any code if the fault is slightly different.
- Fill in the rest of the step, such as Service type, and continue the macro.

Fixably creates the service order in GSPN with the three codes.

The same shortcut dropdown also appears in the gspn.symptom_codes step, when you choose symptom codes before or after the service order is created.
Troubleshooting
The shortcut dropdown does not appear
The dropdown only shows when at least one shortcut exists for the device's sub-category.
- Check that the device on the order has a Samsung sub-category. Devices created with
create.device.gspnget one. - Check that a shortcut is named under that same sub-category in IGSPN symptom codes.
The IGSPN symptom codes table is empty
Samsung's symptom codes have not been fetched yet. Click Fetch and update symptom codes on the IGSPN page, then open IGSPN symptom codes again.
Getting support
If shortcuts still do not work as described, contact Fixably support. Include:
- the shortcut name and its sub-category,
- the Fixably order number where it did not appear,
- a screenshot of the step.
